Modern sculpture depicting the bust of Athena Goldred, made of resin and painted in red and gold, suitable only for indoor use.
In Roman times, numerous replicas of the sculpture depicting Phidias' Athena were made, especially of the head, and for this reason it was possible to reconstruct the entire appearance of the sculpture. A copy of the head, which remains faithful to the original, is the Athena Lemnia, attributed to a sculptor of the Augustan age, currently kept at the Museo Civico Archeologico in Bologna.
