RID 40 Zeus statue h. cm. 98
In our collection of Greek statues there is the reduction of the statue of Zeus, made of white resin with an antique patina, suitable only for indoor placement.
The original statue is made of bronze, is about 2 meters high and is kept at the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. The work dates back to around 480 BC. It depicts either Zeus throwing a thunderbolt or Poseidon throwing a trident. The sculpture was found in the sea in 1926 near Cape Artemision.
