The Pitti Tondo is a marble bas-relief, executed by Michelangelo Buonarroti between 1503 and 1504. It is currently kept at the Bargello National Museum in Florence. It depicts the Madonna, seated on a cube, holding an open book on her knees, with her gaze turned elsewhere; Baby Jesus is leaning on her. Behind her we can see Saint John the Baptist. The cherub angel on Mary's forehead represents the prophecies.
