Minerva is a Roman goddess (Athena for the Greeks). She was a warrior with the qualities of wisdom and intelligence. She was born from the union of Jupiter (Zeus for the Greeks), king of the gods, and Metis, daughter of Oceanus and Tethys. Zeus feared that when Minerva would become more powerful than him, then with deception Jupiter convinced Metis to transform herself into a fly and swallowed her. But the goddess continued her gestation inside Jupiter, creating an armor for her daughter. At the moment of birth the god, no longer bearing the excruciating pain, asked the blacksmith Ephesus to split his head with an axe. From that wound Minerva was born, armed with armor, helmet, shield and spear.
