In our collection of classical statues there is the work depicting Apollo Lykeios, kept at the Louvre Museum, made of antique patinated white resin, suitable only for indoor placement.

The Lycian Apollo is a bronze statue attributed to Praxiteles. Today there are only Roman copies in marble dating back to the 1st century BC. Given the particularity of the shape, with the arm raised above the head, it was taken as a model for the sculptural composition and the sculptural works of the genre, such as the Wounded Amazon, were defined as "Lycian Apollo type".
