THE 16 Front Torso Ephebe of Marathon
h. cm. 70
In our collection of anatomy details there is a reproduction of the Ephebe of Marathon's anterior torso, made of antique patinated white plaster, suitable only for indoor use.
The original statue of the Marathon Ephebe is a bronze sculpture, preserved at the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, found in 1925 in the Aegean Sea, near Marathon. The sculpture depicts a naked young man, probably an athlete, in a moving position, and is attributable to the Praxitelian school.
