In our collection of plaster cast busts there is a reproduction of the bust depicting Laocoon, made of antique patinated white resin, suitable only for indoor placement.
The sculptural group depicts Laocoon and his sons, portrayed in the famous episode described in the Aeneid, in which the Trojan priest Laocoon and his sons are attacked by sea serpents. The sculpture, 242 cm high, and preserved in the Pio-Clementino Museum of the Vatican Museums, is a Roman marble copy of a Hellenistic statue of the Rhodian school.
